Allan John Herbst, 60, of Elizabeth, died Sunday, December 10, 2023 in the Jefferson Hospital. He was born May 2, 1963 in Sewickley, the son of the late John M. and Kathleen Breitenbach Herbst.

Allan was a member of the River Hill Church of Christ in Monongahela. Since the age of twelve Allan worked at John M. Herbst Inc. Service Station in Sewickley, a business run by his family since 1922. He was a member of the Mars Gun Club in Huntington, and a retired member of Cochran Hose Company in Sewickley. Allan was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He loved his family and his dogs.

He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Valentino Herbst, with whom he celebrated thirty four years of marriage on June 24, 2023; daughter, Natalie Herbst and son, Jeffrey Herbst both of Elizabeth; four sisters, Kathleen Herbst of Pittsburgh, Louise (Manny) Rosenfeld of Wilmington, North Carolina, Christine (Scott) Morrow of Corydon, Indiana, Margaret (Thomas) Wakefield of Aliquippa; two brothers, Joseph (Anne) Herbst of Midlothian, Virginia, and James Herbst of Sewickley.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 10:30 AM in the River Hill Church of Christ with the Rev. Paul Eisaman and Pastor Greg Voss, officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to the Frye Funeral Home, Inc. Monongahela.
