Andrew Thomas Smith "Big A", 68, of Youngwood, formerly of Monongahela, passed away Friday, December 6, 2024 in Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born on August 13, 1956 in New Eagle to Michael and Myra O'Neil Smith of Monongahela.

He has now joined his parents and brother, Michael Smith in heaven.

Andy was brother to Roberta Smith, Jennifer Smith, and Wendy Smith-Kislan (Frank). The uncle of Erin Kislan, Meghan Smith, Alexander Smith (Zhenya), and Kaitlan DePinto (Vincent). His long time companion was Dorothy McGinnis.

Andy was employed by Combustion Engineering and the Westmoreland County Courthouse. Andy was a graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and Monongahela High School 75', where he played tuba in the band. He was a former member of the Haymakers and Hoot Owl Club in New Eagle; enjoyed cooking, having a beer, drawing, watching Christmas movies and studio wrestling. Known for portraying Santa Claus for his friends and neighbors, Andy had a big heart and would help anyone.

Granting his wishes, there will be no viewing. Please donate to toy drives, support the arts, attend community events, and be kind to one another.  A private service will take place with immediate family.
