Banchar "Ban" Chuahong's Obituary
Banchar "Ban" Chuahong, 49, of New Eagle, died unexpectedly Monday, March 20, 2017 in the Jefferson Hospital. He was born March 9, 1968 in Ubon, Thailand, the son of Noi Chuahong Helmken of New Eagle.
Ban was a 1987 graduate of Ringgold High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Marine Corps. and served our country during the Persian Gulf War. He was a member of Riverview Baptist Church in New Eagle, enjoyed cooking and was an avid Steeler and Pirates fan. He was a very devoted father to Katie and always had kind words in which to motivate her.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Katie Summer Chuahong of New Eagle; two brothers, Tasanai Chuahong of New Eagle, and Bill Helmken and wife Meigan of South Park.
Friends will be received on Sunday, March 26, 2017 from 2-8 PM in the Frye Funeral Home, Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, where services will be held on Monday, March 27, 2017 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Bruce Moses officiating. Interment will be at a later date in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville with military honors.
