Cheryl Bakori Holmes, 68, of New Eagle, died Thursday, December 27, 2018 in Premier Washington Health Center, Washington. She was born September 30, 1950 in New Eagle, daughter of the late Andrew Bakori and Thelma Mae Stinogle Bakori who survives and resides in Finleyville.
Cheryl was a dispatcher for the Monessen Ambulance service for many years. In 1998, she began working for AT&T, now Comcast and retired in 2013 from the Summit Office in Robinson Township. Cheryl enjoyed painting, drawing, flower arranging, sewing, refinishing furniture and had a passion for and loved her animals.
In addition to her mother, Cheryl is survived by her daughter, Hilary S. Brown and husband Jeff of Monongahela; son, Jordon R. Holmes and wife Michelle C. of Charleroi; four grandchildren, Kaylee Holmes, Sydney Brown, Maximus Holmes, Brooklyn Holmes; sister, Janice Sutherland and husband Gery of Monongahela; brother, Andrew Bakori, Jr. and wife Brenda of Finleyville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Howard Holmes who died July 16, 2000.
Friends will be received on Sunday, December 30, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, where services will be held on Monday, December 31, 2018 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Edd Myers officiating. Interment will follow in the Monongahela Cemetery.
