Clara Elizabeth Gricar, 90, of Monongahela, died Saturday, November 7, 2020 in the Monongahela Valley Hospital. She was born October 29, 1930 in Washington, the daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth King Yavoich.
In her younger years, Clara was a cook at the D & D Diner on Main Street in Monongahela and a former member of the Valley Inn Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting, listening to country music and caring for her family and friends.
She is survived by two sons, William Gricar and Darla Porter of Monongahela, Richard Gricar and wife Diana of Charleroi; and her brother, Harry Yavoich of Clairton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gricar who died June 21, 1993, two brothers, Ray and Jim Yavoich; and her sister, Betty Holmes.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, where services will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Jude Urso officiating. Interment will follow in the Monongahela Cemetery.
