Constance B. "Connie" Lester, 92, of New Eagle, died Saturday, January 16, 2021 in the Mon Valley Care Center, Monongahela. She was born September 29, 1928 in Forward Township, the daughter of Louis W. and Mary E. Fine Munger.

Connie was one of the first carhops at the Eat'n Park in Monongahela where she worked for four years. She also waitressed at several other restaurants in Monongahela. Connie retired with over twenty years of employment as a cafeteria worker from the Ringgold School District and was a member of the Riverhill Church of Christ in Monongahela. She enjoyed square dancing, cooking, baking (especially pies) and canning in which she was selected as the judge's choice at the Washington County Fair.

She was a great woman, greatly respected by many. She was always cheerful, putting a smile on the faces and laughter in the hearts of those who were with her.  You could find her in the kitchen of her church volunteering at church functions or in her own kitchen baking a delicious pie to give away.  Her cooking and baking were her gift to her family, friends, and her ministry.  Her home was always open; there was always a seat for you at her dining room table.

As a grandmother, she absolutely loved her grand and great grandchildren.  She made it a point to attend every school and extra-curricular event that she was invited to—and bought them ice cream afterwards!  Her greatest joy in life was being a mom, grandma, and great grandma.  The walls of her living room which chronicles their lives is a testimony to that.

She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband, Clifford G. Lester with whom she celebrated seventy-two years of marriage on October 18, 2020; two daughters and two sons, Connie G. Custer and husband Roy of Finleyville, Keith W. Lester and wife Patty of Monongahela, Wendy S. Jones and husband Mark of New Eagle, Jeffrey D. Lester of New Eagle; ten grandchildren, Roy II and Cris Custer, Clifford and Joshua Lester, Crystal, Mark II, Jeremy, Isaac, and Susie Jones, and Amanda Lester. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Jennifer Riffle who died December 9, 2020.

Friends will be received on Thursday, January 21, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, where services will be held on Friday, January 22, 2021 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Paul Eisaman officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery. For those family and friends who would like to attend the graveside service only, please be at the funeral home by 11:30 AM to join in the procession to the cemetery.
