Darren M. Lynn, Sr.'s Obituary
Darren Michael Lynn, Sr., 45, of Oakland, Maryland, formerly of Monongahela, died unexpectedly Friday, February 17, 2017 while visiting family in Ohio. He was born November 24, 1971 in New Eagle, the son of the late Robert R. "Sonny" and Deborah Ruth Jennion Lynn.
Darren was a graduate of Ringgold High School, class of 1991. After high school and while working at Eat n' Park Restaurant in Monongahela, he continued his education by attending Bradford School of Business in Pittsburgh, where he became a certified medical assistant. Once he finished school, he worked for the Mon Valley Medical Associates in Monongahela. He also was employed by GRD Steel in East Monongahela, and then pursued a career in truck driving. He drove for Patterson Supply in Monongahela, US Food Services in Greensburg and then began driving over the road. Darren enjoyed camping, riding his motorcycle, NASCAR, collecting shot glasses and model truck figurines and the Penguins, Pirates and Steelers. In Darren's eyes, family always came first. He always had a smile on his face and loved bringing joy to everyone's life.
He is survived by his wife, Tina Bolen Lynn with whom he celebrated 12 years of marriage on November 12, 2016; daughter, Shannon Lynn of Oakland, MD; four sons, Darren Lynn, Jr. and wife Cassie of Fayette City, Robert, Tyler and Steven Lynn, all of Oakland, MD; four grandchildren, Tiffany, Makenzie, Avery and Aaliyah; two sisters, Julie and husband Jeff Lenzi of Charleroi, Tracie and husband Eric Crosco of Oakland, MD; nieces and nephews, Jeffrey, Dylan, Brianna, Daniel, Caden and Eric.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, February 22, from 12-2 and 6-8 PM in the Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, where funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 23, at 11:00 AM with Pastor John Custer officiating.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested by the family that memorial donations be made to the Frye Funeral Home Inc. or to www.fundthefuneral.com to assist the family with funeral expenses.
