David George Simon, 94, of New Eagle, died Tuesday, November 12, 2024 in his home. He was born July 2, 1930 in East Millsboro, the son of Paul and Margaret Balant Simon.

David was a 1948 graduate of Brownsville High School and a 1953 graduate of Penn State University; he played football in both high school and college. He was a US Army veteran having served during the Korean War.

He was a high school physical education and health teacher at Brownsville, Monongahela, and Belle Vernon High Schools. He also coached baseball and football. David enjoyed playing golf, watching football, and going to Penn State University football games.

He is survived by his three daughters, Suzanne Simon of New Eagle, Beth (Robert Snyder) Simon and Julie Simon, both of Pittsburgh; two grandchildren, Molly (Nico Torralba) Simon, and Carlos Snyder.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Sofranko Simon, and his siblings.

Friends will be received on Friday, November 15, 2024 from 4-8 PM in the Frye Funeral Home, Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 10:30 AM in St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, Monongahela. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Monongahela.
