Deborah Jean Matthews, 66, of Monongahela, died Thursday, January 23, 2025 in WeCare at South Hills in Canonsburg. She was born May 24, 1958 in New Eagle, the daughter of the late Joseph Zippay and Dorothy Mrochek Zippay who survives and resides in Fayette City.

Deb was a 1976 graduate of Ringgold High School and later graduated from Duff's Business School in Pittsburgh. She was employed at Westinghouse Electric in Large for 16 years. She was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish.

Deb loved gardening and cooking. She leaves behind her three Italian Greyhounds, Maggie, Sydney, and Milo, who loved her very much.

She is survived by her husband, Jeffrey H. Matthews, with whom she celebrated 43 years of marriage on October 10, 2024; two sons, Jarrod (fiance, Peyton) Matthews of Portvue, Eric (Cassie) Matthews of Hickory; grandson, Elias Matthews; brother, Robert (Kim) Zippay of Cardale; sister, Lisa (Al) Kerfonta of Perryopolis; several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Monday, January 27, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the Frye Funeral Home, Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at 10:00 AM in St. Andrew the Apostle, Monongahela. Interment will follow in the Monongahela Cemetery.
