Dolores Marie Casciani's Obituary
Dolores Marie Casciani, 91, of Monongahela, died Sunday, April 15, 2018 in Paramount Senior Living , Bethel Park. She was born on October 13, 1926 in Donora, a daughter of Thomas Sherman and Fannie Mae Fletcher Howard.
She was a member of the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ in Monongahela where she attended its Sunday School and was retired after 25 years of employment from the Monongahela Valley Hospital. She was a member of the New Eagle Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary and loved taking trips to the meadows, playing cards and bingo. Dolores was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She always made you feel very welcome and you always left her home with something to eat. She enjoyed baking, and was especially known for her famous Cherry Slab.
She is survived by her husband Louis Casciani, Jr. with whom she celebrated 72 years of marriage on September 8, 2017; two sons, David (Virginia) Casciani of McKees Rocks, Ronald (Kathleen) Casciani of Monongahela; daughter, Helen Diane (Jeff) Wilson of Tidioute; seven grandchildren, Marc (Deborah) Casciani, Todd Casciani, Chad Casciani, Gina (Brad) Nalitt, Ryan (Christina) Casciani, Eric Casciani, Brent (Margaret) Davies; and nine great grandchildren, Gianna, Hailey, Mia, Dallas, Jarah, Milena, Sam, Liam and Harry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, April 18 from 2-8 PM in the Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, where services will be held on Thursday, April 19 at 11:00 AM with the Elder Dale Minjock officiating. Interment will follow in the Monongahela Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church, 630 Chess Street, Monongahela, PA 15063.
