Elizabeth "Betty" Wavrek, 98, of Monongahela, died Monday, January 27, 2020 in the TLC Adult Care Center, West Newton. She was born December 5, 1921, the daughter of Peter and Elizabeth Kovach Savadeck.
Betty was formerly employed at Corning Glass in Charleroi. She enjoyed taking care of her home, cooking and loved her sweets. While a resident of TLC Adult Care Center, she loved participating in crafts and singing.
She is survived by her son, Ronald Wavrek and wife Roberta of Monessen; two granddaughters, Hilary Totin and husband Derek of Castle Shannon, and Monica Burgman and husband Josh of Palm Coast, Florida; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Wavrek who died Nov. 3, 2003; brother, Michael Savadeck; and a
sister, Mary Kurilko.
Friends will be received on Thursday, January 30, 2020 from 6-8 PM in the Frye Funeral Home, Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, where services will be held on Friday, January 31, 2020 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Mark Woomer officiating. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Monongahela.
