Francis W. Funtal, 87, of Pittsburgh, died Monday, February 28, 2022 in Atria Senior Living, Pittsburgh. He was born June 9, 1934 in Pittsburgh, the son of Andrew and Mary Felidik Funtal.

Francis was Catholic by faith and a US Army veteran. In his younger years, he worked painting homes. Later, he lived and worked on his farm in Linesville. He was a member of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his brother, Joseph Funtal of Pittsburgh; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Carl, Bernard, Albert, Andrew, and Thomas Funtal; and a sister, Katie Krauss.

Friends will be received on Friday, March 4, 2022 from 4-8 PM in the Frye Funeral Home, Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela. A mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 10:00 AM in St. John XXIII Parish, St. Francis of Assisi site with the Rev. Pierre Falkenhan as celebrant. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray.
