Gary S. Jarvis' Obituary
Gary S. Jarvis, 72, of Monongahela, ( Forward Township), died Tuesday, September 26, 2017 in his home. He was born July 16, 1945 in McKeesport, the son of Kenneth and Alverta Everett Jarvis.
Gary retired with over twenty years of employment from Five R's Drilling in Oakdale and was a Vietnam veteran, having served in the United States Army attaining the rank of Sergeant. He enjoyed hunting, working on his cars, cutting grass and loved to play with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Zadnik Jarvis with whom he celebrated twenty two years of marriage on January 7, 2017; daughter, Robin Jarvis Perez and husband Jeff of Rostraver Township; two stepsons, Jul "JP" Fetchen and Jason Fetchen and wife Heather, all of Monongahela; five grandchildren, Whitney Kevech, Dylan and Logan Perez, Sean and Shane Fetchen; and his best friend, Charlie.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Jarvis Abbott and brother, Roger Jarvis who died September 18, 1997.
Friends will be received on Thursday, September 28, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-9 PM in the Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, where services will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Mark Woomer officiating. Committal services and interment will follow in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth with military honors accorded by the Mon Valley Firing Squad and Honor Guard.
