John R. "Bob" Folk, Sr., 87, of Bunola, died Wednesday, March 23, 2022 in the Jefferson Hospital. He was born January 12, 1935 in Cumberland, Maryland, the son of Clarence Nelson and Ruth Blanche Mason Folk.

Bob was a member of Bunola Church of the Nazarene and a United States Marine Corps veteran. He retired from Cerdec Corp in Washington where he was employed as a Production Technician for 6 years. He was a member of the Mon Valley Leathernecks in Monongahela and a life member of the Marine Corps League Washington County Detachment 1138. Bob was an avid trap shooter, enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, working in his yard, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by two sons, John R. Folk, Jr. of Bunola, Joseph Folk and wife Kristin of Pleasant Hills; two grandchildren, Ty and Emma Folk; brother, Carl Folk and wife Beatrice of Bunola; two sisters, Nancy Williams of Bunola, Sharon Fine of Carroll Township.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jolene Crovak Folk who died June 24, 1998; two sisters, Selina Peterson and Dorothy Salka.

Friends will be received on Saturday, March 26, 2022 from 6-8 PM and Sunday, March 27, 2022 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in the Frye Funeral Home, Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, where services will be held on Monday, March 28, 2022 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Jeff Lytle officiating. Interment will follow in the Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth.
