John Charles Pippert, 96, of Rostraver Township, died Tuesday, April 14, 2026 in Jefferson Hospital. He was born April 2, 1930 in West Newton, a son of John M. and Lillian Bergman Pippert.

John was a 1949 graduate of Monongahela High School and a member of Fells United Methodist Church. He retired in 1993 from Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory.

He was a skilled craftsman who enjoyed woodworking and often made gifts for his family and friends. He had a deep appreciation for the arts and classical music. John will be remembered as an incredibly intelligent and generous man with a great sense of humor.

He is survived by two children, Diane (Lance) Sokol of Rostraver Township, David (Debra Williams) Pippert of Greensburg; three grandchildren, Diana Sokol, Devlin and Courtlyn Pippert.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Harriet A. Pippert, who died January 6, 2007; sister, Jean Bartolotta; brother, Donald Pippert.

Friends will be received on Sunday, April 19, 2026 from 2-6 PM in the Frye Funeral Home, Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, where a funeral service will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jude Urso officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery, Monongahela.
