John "Doc" Williams, 81, of Monessen, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2024 at home surrounded by loved ones. He was born June 19, 1943 in Bunola to the late William and Anna Hart Williams.

Doc graduated from Elizabeth Forward High School in 1961 while working on the family farm. He married Edna Williams in 1966 and they had four children, Vickie, John, Melissa, and Daniel. They also raised their great-granddaughter, Vanessa Micenko.

Doc spent 30 years with Frank Irey Construction before joining Merit Construction for 9 years and retiring in 2002. In retirement, he enjoyed going to his monthly United Mine Workers Construction L.U. 1998 District 2 meetings and spending time with fellow members Robert (Conrail) Kondratowicz and Bill Cottle.

Doc is survived by his wife, Edna (Dermont) Williams; four children, Vickie (David) Lester, John Williams Jr., Melissa (Daniel) Micenko, Daniel (Melissa) Williams; eight grandchildren, Daniel (Janie), Ashley (Joseph), Matthew (Liz), Mary (Wesley), Alex (Mark), Jordyn, Kasey, and Brady; three great-grandchildren, Vanessa, Aiden, and Lucas; five siblings, Margret Dyer, Janet Langford, Harry (Karen) Williams, Paul (Sandy) Williams, Glen (LuAnn) Williams; numerous nieces, nephews, and loved ones.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Williams Jr.

Friends and loved ones will be received on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, where services will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Jeff Lytle officiating.
