Joseph A. Scagline, Jr., 90, of Mount Pleasant, died Tuesday, February 22, 2022 in Excela Health Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant. He was born November 21, 1931 in Monongahela, the son of Joseph and Ruth Griffith Scagline.

Joseph retired after thirty five years from Combustion Engineering in East Monongahela where he was employed until its closing. Joseph was an ordained pastor for several years. He loved being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Nagy Scagline, with whom he celebrated 71 years of marriage; four sons, Joseph, Stephen, Michael, and Mark Scagline; five grandchildren; two sisters, Sarah Brizzi and Elizabeth Munger; and a brother, Donald Scagline.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Scagline; and sister, Mary White.

Friends will be received on Friday, February 25, 2022 from 4-7 PM in the Frye Funeral Home, Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela. Interment will be private in the Monongahela Cemetery.
