Judith A. Shaw's Obituary
Judith A. Shaw, 81, of New Eagle, died unexpectedly Wednesday, August 2, 2017 in her home. She was born March 7, 1936 in New Eagle, the daughter of Leonard and Garnet Lycett Shaw.
After her graduation from Monongahela High School, Judy attended cosmetology school. She became a licensed beautician and owner of Shaw's Beauty Salon in Charleroi, which she operated for fifteen years. After leaving the salon, her career took a different path and for numerous years she was employed as the administrator of Haven Crest Nursing Home in Monongahela and also as a caseworker for the Area Agency on Aging in Monessen. Judy was a member of First Baptist Church in Monongahela.
She is survived by her brother, Leonard "Jerry" Shaw of Monongahela; two nieces, Sherry (William) Ford, Judy K. Hall; and a great nephew, Kirk Hall, all of Elizabeth.
Judy's family held a private graveside service at the Monongahela Cemetery with the Rev. Mark Schollaert officiating. The Frye Funeral Home Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.
