Julia E.
Lusk
Aug 29, 1922 — Oct 31, 2024
Monongahela
Julia Elizabeth (Nagy) Lusk, of Monongahela, passed away on October 31, 2024 at the Residence at Hilltop. She was surrounded by her loving family and passed away peacefully. She was 102 years old.
Born on August 29, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Steve and Elizabeth (Timko) Nagy. Julia was born in Grindstone, Pennsylvania, and spent her early years there. She and her family moved to Monongahela in 1929.
Julia was a 1940 graduate of Monongahela High School and was the only one of her siblings to graduate. She often talked about how much she loved school.
Julia was married to Kenneth W. Lusk on September 20, 1941. They were happily married for over 50 years. She had various jobs over the years, including working as a waitress at the Monongahela Country Club, Horne's Department Store, and her son's News Store and More (formerly Polaski's). Her most important job, though, was as a homemaker, wife, mother to her three sons, and grandmother.
Her greatest loves have always been spending time with her family and her deep Catholic faith. She was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish (formerly St. Anthony's) in Monongahela. In her free time, she enjoyed bowling, gardening, reading, playing the lottery, and especially babysitting her grandchildren. She was very well known for her exceptional baked goods.
She is survived by her children, Kenneth S. (Mary) Lusk, and twins, Richard V. (companion, Teri Piscitelli) and Robert W. (Elizabeth "Lil") Lusk. She was the grandmother of Kenneth J., Kevin S. (Leanna), and Keith A. (Maria); Tami M. (Steve) White, Robert C. (Gretchen), and Matthew S. (Angie); Richard J. (Noelle), Jennifer A. (Danny) Musser, and Brian (Beverly) Lusk. She was also a great grandmother to Kevin and Nate Lusk; Nicole, Jacob, and Emily Lusk; Julia and Andrew White; Sam, Ryan, and Charlie Lusk; Owen Lusk; Chloe and Olivia Lusk; Baylee, Madison, and Camryn Musser; and Reagan and Reiley Lusk. She was a great great grandmother to Lucas Markoff and Shai Scott.
Julia was preceded in death by her sister, Irene (Nagy) Day, and two brothers, Steve and John Nagy. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Her husband, Kenneth Lusk, passed in 1992.
Her children and grandchildren have inherited and frequently use many of her favorite sayings, so "good night, God bless you, and pleasant dreams," Grammie!
The family wishes to thank all who helped her through her last days: the wonderful, caring staff at the Residence; ViaQuest Hospice; and especially Joan and Dr. John Holets for their dedicated, compassionate care.
