Kathleen "Hoppy" Korzinski, 68, of Monongahela, died unexpectedly Thursday, December 27, 2018 in her home. She was born August 21, 1950 in New Eagle, the daughter of the late George J. and Frances Podroskey Chambers, Jr.
Kathleen was a 1968 graduate of Mon Valley Catholic High School and a 1971 graduate of the St. Francis School of Nursing, where she acquired her license as a registered nurse. Her nursing career, in which she specialized in orthopedics, encompassed forty four years, working at St. Francis Hospital in Pittsburgh, the Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia and retiring from Jefferson Hospital in Jefferson Hills. Kathleen enjoyed crocheting and would do so for cancer patients at the Monongahela Valley Hospital and for the premature babies at Jefferson Hospital. She was a member of the Victory Hill Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by two sisters, Cynthia Lenzi and husband Larry, Carol Brown and husband William; brother, David Chambers and wife Alice; sister-in-law, Denise Chambers, all of Monongahela; two stepsons, Dennis Korzinski, Jr. of St. Petersburg, Florida, David Korzinski and wife Missy of Washington; four step grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lois Rattigan of McKeesport; two aunts, Joan Chambers and Dorothy Podroskey, both of Monongahela; numerous nieces and nephews; and her faithful companion, Max.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Allen Korzinski who died Nov. 1, 2016; brother, George J. Chambers; and stepdaughter, Sheila Dugan.

As per Kathleen's request, there will be no visitations or funeral services. The Frye Funeral Home Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.
