Laura Lee
Maxwell
Nov 15, 1953 — Dec 23, 2025
Monongahela
Laura Lee Maxwell, 72, of Monongahela, died Tuesday, December 23, 2025. She was born November 15, 1953 in Barberton, Ohio, the daughter of Charles Harvey and Margaret J. Dunlevy Smith, and the stepdaughter of William H. Snodgrass.
Laura was a devoted wife and mother, who no matter what she did in life, she did it in service of Jesus Christ and her family. She married the love of her life Danny only after dating him for 6 weeks and spent the next 53 years by his side carving out a legacy for Christ. She raised their children and grandchildren to be God fearing, trustworthy and morally up right men and women of God. Her compassion for the less fortunate rang true in her service to the elderly and the less fortunate as is God's command. She gave generously from her heart and purse. There was no area not surrendered to the call of heaven, as she was direct, unyielding and married to the truth of God's word. She lived for 72 years on this earth and embodied scripture as it said "...of whom the world was not worthy of...". So, as she passed, we are assured in our hearts it was to the sound of "Well done thou good and faithful servant." And we know we will never again see her kind. Go with God Mom, we love you.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel P. Maxwell, with whom she celebrated 53 years of marriage on December 2, 2025; daughter, Jennifer L. (Matthew) Schroeder of Willow Spring, North Carolina; son, David J. (Ariel) Maxwell of Monongahela; three grandchildren, Christopher Maxwell, Arianna Schroeder, and David Maxwell, Jr.; siblings, Robert (Brenda) Smith of Monongahela, Charles (Karen) Smith of New Eagle, Nancy Mounts of West Alexander, William (Yvonne) Snodgrass of Fayette City; sister-in-law, Norma Smith of New Smyrna Beach, Florida; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and stepfather, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Malakai Schroeder; brother, Thomas Smith; and brother-in-law, Larry Mounts.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 6:00 PM in the Carroll Township Social Hall, Baird Street, Monongahela.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Restoration Fellowship Church, 580 E Main Street, Monongahela, PA 15063.
