Leonard J. Ross, 88, of Monessen, formerly of Gallatin, died Tuesday, January 3, 2023 in the Hallsworth House, Monessen, He was born December 25, 1934 in Gallatin, the son of John and Teresa Martelli Ross.

Leonard was a graduate of Monongahela High School, class of 1953. He resided on River Hill most of his adult life and was a peacetime veteran serving in the US Army. He retired after thirty years of employment at Combustion Engineering in East Monongahela and also played on their golf league. Leonard loved watching sports on television and was passionate about the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He is survived by his wife, Eva "Ann" Williams Ross with whom he celebrated forty four years of marriage on June 10, 2022; nephew, Lonny Tosi and wife Dianne of Celebration, Florida; friends, Marie Woytovich and husband Ed of Charleroi, Dave Stanisz and his wife Cissy of Monessen.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Lewis Zanardelli; daughter, Robin Zanardelli; brother, James Ross; and sister, Carmella Tosi.

Friends will be received on Friday, January 6, 2023 from 6-8 PM in the Frye Funeral Home, Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, where a blessing service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 10:00 AM. Committal services and interment will follow in the Monongahela Cemetery.
