Louise S.  Lendway, 89, of Finleyville, died  with her family by her side on Monday, December 26, 2016 in the Monongahela Valley Hospital, now in the loving arms of Jesus and with Pap. She was born December 6, 1927 in Donora, the daughter of Frank and Ida Cieslak Dzik.
Mrs. Lendway was a graduate of Donora High School, class of 1946. She was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish in Donora and it's Altar and Rosary Society. Years ago, she taught CCD classes at the former St. Dominic's Church in Donora. For over forty years, she was a secretary for her husband Steve's business, Lendway and Sons in Donora. She volunteered her time with the Democractic party, helping with elections, as well as other duties. A homemaker, she spent her time watching her grandchildren and especially loved reading to them. She also enjoyed polka music and dancing.
She is survived by two sons, David Lendway and Carol Lacey of Finleyville, Stephen Lendway and wife Shirley of Roanoke, VA; five grandchildren, Leslie Williams, Brandon, David M., Spencer and Paul Lendway; eight great grandchildren, Dezin, Isaiah, Joshua, Michael, Halie, Cordelia, Benjamin and David Michael Jr.; sister, Annie Maise of Monessen; and brother, Frank Dzik of New Eagle.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Lendway; three sisters, Wanda, Theresa and Martha; and three brothers, Harry, Leo and Walter Dzik.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Frye Funeral Home, Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 1:30 PM in Our Lady of the Valley Parish with the Rev. Pierre M. Falkenhan, pastor as celebrant. Committal services and interment will follow in the Monongahela Cemetery.
