Michael “Mike” Kotun, 72, of Forward Township, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Allegheny General Hospital, surrounded by family. He was born February 13, 1954, in McKeesport, the son of the late John and Katherine Pandel Kotun.

Mike was a graduate of McKeesport High School and served in the United States Navy. For most of his adult life, he worked in the Maintenance Department at the Jewish Association on Aging Senior Living and Care Facilities. He enjoyed fishing, trips to the ocean, and rooting for the Pittsburgh sports teams.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta Meyers Kotun with whom he shared 49 years of marriage; his children, Sandy (Kenny) Mackey, Pam (Erik) Greer, Allen Kotun and his partner, Jim Skakel, and Liz (Nate) McElroy; his grandchildren, Jason and Madelyn; his sisters, Pauline (Ralph) Kitchen and Renee (Kevin) Elwood; his aunt, Stella Neuschwander; and his nieces, nephew, and additional extended family.

There will be no visitation or funeral service. The family is planning a celebration of life, with details to be announced.

In lieu of cards or flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mike's name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
