Michael A. Scagline, 65, of Forward Township, died unexpectedly Monday, April 6, 2026 in Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital. He was born November 14, 1960 in New Eagle, a son of the late Samuel Donald Scagline and Betty Munger Scagline Kisner who survives and resides in Forward Township.

Michael was a 1978 graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School. He was a self employed contractor working for numerous years in the Mon Valley and South Hills area. He enjoyed hunting at the camp in Potter County with Greg Rollason who he thought of as a brother. Michael also spent his time gardening, woodworking, and taking the dog, Toby, for walks.

He is survived by his companion of 26 years, Veronica Slominsky; four siblings, Beth S. Mills (Charles Christner) of Elizabeth, Dr. Rhonda (Thurman) Wingrove of Monongahela, Rodney (Lori) Scagline of Murrysville, Dawn (Scott) Valentino of Acme; step-brother, Robert (Anna) Kisner of Elizabeth; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his step-father, William Kisner, Sr.; step-brother, William Kisner, Jr.; niece, Alyssa (Valentino) Plumberg; brother-in-law, David Mills.

Friends will be received on Thursday, April 9, 2026 from 2:00 - 7:30 PM in the Frye Funeral Home, Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, where a funeral service will be held at 7:30 PM with Rev. Paul Eisaman officiating.
