Nicholas Michael Wozniak, 70, of Carroll Township, died unexpectedly Saturday, October 6, 2018 in his home. He was born February 21, 1948 in Neustadt bei Coburg, Germany, the son of the late Aftan and Ida Hornlein Wozniak.
Nick was a graduate of Donora High School, class of 1967. He was employed for Macintosh-Hemphill on the Southside of Pittsburgh until its closing in 1988. At that time, he furthered his education at CCAC and obtained a degree in medical lab technology. In 2014, he retired from RTS Packaging in Charleroi where he had been employed as a mechanic for over fifteen years. He was a member of the Victory Hill Mens Social Club, enjoyed riding his motorcycle and loved being in the woods hunting. After his retirement, Nick never stopped working, whether it was doing projects around the house or giving a helping hand to family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia "Ginny" Richardson Wozniak with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage on January 6, 2018; son, Eric J. Wozniak of Carroll Township; daughter, Jill N. and her husband Luke Buffone of Collier Township; four granddaughters, Allyson Wozniak, Devon Wozniak-Franks, Sophia Buffone and Carmela Buffone; sister, Monica Rose of Donora; and his mother-in-law, Virginia Mitchell Richardson of Carroll Township.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 from 4-8 PM in the Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, where services will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. William Bailey officiating.
