Richard S. "Dick" Leopold, 85, of Monessen, died Tuesday, January 7, 2020 in the Jefferson Hospital. He was born August 22, 1934 in Allegheny County, the son of Simon Ernest Leopold and Olga Lillian Morgenroth Leopold Buttorff.
Dick was formerly of Imperial, Pennsylvania and had also resided in the Seattle, Washington area for thirty one years. He retired after thirteen years of employment at J&L Steel in Aliquippa. He was a member of the Oakdale Masonic Lodge #669 F&AM and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Puyallup, Washington. Dick enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his dedicated wife of fifty two years, Marcella Jane Friend Leopold; four children, Kelly (Steve) Glenner of Seattle, WA, Kathy Dronsfield of Phoenix, AZ, Michael Friend of Freedom, Jenelle (Dave) Lance of New Eagle; sixteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two
sisters, Sandy (Tom) Hicks of Palm Springs, CA and Lois (Dave) Bernesser of San Tan Valley, AZ.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Peroni and brother, Ernest Leopold, Sr.
Friends will be received on Friday, January 10, 2020 from 3-6 PM in the Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, where services will be held at 6:00 PM with the Elder Eric Bosh, friend of the family, officiating.
