Obituary

In Loving memory, we sadly announce the passing of Robert Earl Jamison, Jr., on Friday, April 23, 2021, at Sentara VA Beach General Hospital at the age of 61, after a battle with COVID-19. Robert (aka Robbie) was born on October 12, 1959 to Constance Woods Jones and Robert Earl Jamison, Sr. in Weirton, WV. He graduated from Ringgold Sr. High School, Monongahela, PA, class of 1977, known for leading the marching band.

Robbie earned a Drum Major scholarship to attend college at California University of Pennsylvania. There he courted and married Donna Lee Saunders from Penn Hills, PA, and from this union, he had three daughters, LaKisha Amber Jamison and identical twins Tyawna Rashon Jamison & Tanica Yvonne Jamison. He later married Trudy Taylor of Charleroi, PA and from their union he had his only son, John Robert Jamison Bristol.

Robbie adored his mother Constance (aka Connie) and moved from Pittsburgh, PA to Virginia Beach to care for her through her last days. Robbie was a die-hard Steelers fan and worked as an Electrician at Lyon Shipyard in Norfolk, VA for the past several years. Prior to that, he worked for Volkswagen and Alaska shipyard. Aside from work and church, you would never catch Robbie without a Steelers hat, t-shirt, or jacket on... even as he took his last breath here on earth.

Everyone who knows Robbie will remember him as being genuine, fun-loving, and easy-going. Nobody could deny his big charming, dimpled smile. Though set in his ways, he sincerely cared for the wellbeing of his friends, family, co-workers, and loved ones. His co-workers knew him as a dependable, hard-working team player who did whatever it took to get the job done right, often leading the charge.

Robbie was tougher than steel, "Jamison Strong" we say. In fact, he beat cancer twice and survived several life-threatening situations. He was Christian by faith and a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Virginia Beach, VA, also a former member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Monongahela, PA. His faith in God always kept him positive in mind and spirit, and gave him strength - even through his final battle with COVID-19. Robbie's plans for life after retirement included rehabilitating and flipping real-estate, and spending more time with loved ones.

Robert (Robbie) Earl Jamison, Jr. was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Daisy and Earl Woods (maternal), Emma and Lewis Jamison (paternal); Father Robert Earl Jamison, Sr., Mother Constance W. Jones, beloved "Daddy" James A. Jones; and Brother Kevin Lee Jamison, Step-brothers Gilbert Hardison and Robert Hardison.

Robert (Robbie) Earl Jamison, Jr. is survived by his children: LaKisha Amber Jamison (Terrell Scott) of Chandler, AZ, Tyawna Rashon Jamison of Houston, TX, Tanica Yvonne Jamison of College Station, TX, and John Robert Jamison Bristol of Charleroi, PA; grandchildren: Nolan Forbes Scott of Chandler, AZ and Brooklyn Steele Jamison of College Station TX; siblings by union of Constance Woods Jones and Robert Earl Jamison, Sr.: Bobbette Jamison Smith (Alvin) of NV, Michael William Jamison (Patricia) of PA and James Lewis Jamison of WI; other Siblings: Robyn Smith-Jolly of FL, Dr. Kandice Cooper (Thomas) of NJ; Antoinette Watkins of PA, Tikeya Jamison of PA; and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and loved ones including special friend: Deborah Littleton-Wilson.

Scripture:
Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.
In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you.
I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
John 14: 1-3
