Ronald Tatar, 91, of New Eagle, died Monday, February 23, 2026 in the Mon Valley Care Center, Monongahela. He was born September 5, 1934 in McKeesport, a son of Grace Tatar.

Ron retired from Anderson Oldsmobile Inc. in Elizabeth with over 38 years of employment. He built model airplanes and cars. He enjoyed working on cars, woodworking, fishing, and vegetable gardening. Ron especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and also camping at Hillegass Campground in Schellsburg.

He is survived by his three children, William Tatar and wife Connie, Ronald M. Tatar and wife Lisa, all of New Eagle, Sandra Tustin of Belle Vernon; five grandchildren, Ronald (Kristin) Tatar, Bryan (Jennifer) Tatar, Ruth Ann (Shawn) Tatar, Shelly (Brian) Cowart, Billy (Jaime) Tatar; eight great grandchildren, Billy Cowart III, Colette (Zach) Bagay, Lilli and Isabella Tatar, Jakob and Elena Tatar, Marli and Jace Tatar; sister, Jeanine Protz of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his wife, Joetta L. (Craig) Tatar, who died December 3, 2022.

Friends will be received on Thursday, February 26, 2026 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the Frye Funeral Home, Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela.
