Ruth E. Bucchianeri, 78, of Monongahela, died unexpectedly Monday, October 21, 2024 in her home. She was born April 24, 1946 in Monongahela, the daughter of Paul and Grace Hank Young.

Ruth was a 1963 graduate of Monongahela High School and later earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from California State College. She taught school for a few years at the Ginger Hill School.

Ruth was a very tender hearted lover of all animals. She grew up raising horses well into her adult life.

Ruth acquired Lone Oak Farm in Monongahela from her family. It had originally belonged to her grandparents and was utilized as a Dairy Farm. Several decades ago, trees were planted on the property and currently the farm is still in operation selling Christmas Trees.

Ruth and her husband, Bernie loved to travel out west and enjoyed going to all the national parks. She also enjoyed time spent babysitting her grandchildren and going to the Washington County Fair.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bernard A. Bucchianeri; two sons, Stephen (Kristy) Bucchianeri of Carroll Township, Matthew (Kimi) Bucchianeri of Monongahela; three grandchildren, Eleanor, Emily, and Austin Bucchianeri.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Peggy Young.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-9 PM in the Frye Funeral Home, Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Tim Burgan officiating. Interment will follow in the Monongahela Cemetery.
