Obituary

Samuel Aaron Williams, 71, of New Eagle, died unexpectedly Tuesday, February 28, 2017 in his home. He was born August 27, 1945 in New Eagle,  the son of John and Lois Gailey Williams.
Sam was a graduate of Monongahela High School and served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. After serving in the war, he settled in Pittsburgh and worked for a construction firm as a drywall hanger and painter. In later years, he was employed as a cook at Brookdale Family Living in Brookline and retired on January 3, 2009. In 2013, Sam moved back to New Eagle to be closer to his family. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Monongahela and the Sutman Yohe VFW Post 1409 in Black Diamond. Sam was a big fan of football, basketball, hockey and of course an avid Steelers and Penguins fan. Sam loved going to oldies concerts and dances, and enjoyed watching westerns and war movies. Fondly known as Sambo or Bucky to his family, he was dearly loved and will be sadly missed.
