Saundra Mellinger, 75, of Finleyville, died Monday, November 4, 2024 in the Jefferson Hospital.

She was born June 23, 1949 in New Eagle, the daughter of Joseph H. and Catherine Barle Barskite.

Saundra was a 1967 graduate of Monongahela High School. She was a buggy operator for the Westland Coal Mine for six years and was a bartender at the Ginger Hill Inn for over twenty years. She was a member of multiple clubs in Finleyville and surrounding areas. Saundra loved drawing and painting.

She is survived by her companion, James Clemens, of Hickory, with whom she shared the past 40 years; three children, Kimberlee Garrity (Scott Bartolotta) and Missy Maize (Gary Benzo), both of Monongahela, David Mellinger of Finleyville; four grandchildren, Adam and Logan Garrity, Sara Carr, Samantha Maize; great grandson, Giovanni Carr; siblings, Francine "Honey" Weber and Edward (Crystal) Barskite, both of Finleyville, Lillian (Daniel) Rice of Sydney, Ohio; aunt, Frances Barskite Vavasori; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Tyler Garrity; and three siblings, June, Joseph, and Harry Barskite.

At the request of the family, there will be no services for Saundra. Arrangements are entrusted to Frye Funeral Home, Inc.
