Sophie Piscitelli, 100, of Monongahela, died Tuesday, October 21, 2025 in the Mon Valley Care Center. She was born April 28, 1925 in Donora, a daughter of Stanislaw and Anelia Jackowski Durka.

Sophie loved her family. She made sure that every holiday was extra special with delicious meals, the finest homemade bread, pies, and cakes.

She is survived by her son, Anthony "Buddy" (Sharon) Piscitelli of Greensburg; son-in-law, Ed Uhutch of Charleroi; four grandchildren, Marie Feick of Monongahela, Alexis (Chad Barclay) Piscitelli of Michigan, Larry (Lisa) Feick of  Monongahela, AJ Piscitelli of Ohio; sister-in-law, Bea Durka; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, James N. Piscitelli; twin daughters, Angelina (Larry) Feick, Lucille Uhutch; sister, Lucille Minno; and five brothers, Joseph, Matthew, James, Thaddeas, and Louis Michael Durka.

Friends will be received on Sunday, October 26, 2025 from 2-6 PM in the Frye Funeral Home, Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, where a blessing service will be held on Monday, October 27, 2025 at 11:00 AM in Frye Funeral Home with the Deacon Alexander Poroda officiating. Interment will follow in the Monongahela Cemetery.
