Thomas S. Benedict, 75, of Monongahela, died Friday, April 14, 2023 in Premier Washington Health Center, Washington. He was born December 24, 1947 in Pittsburgh, the son of Joseph J. and Margaret Joyce Benedict.

Tom was a graduate of Mon Valley Catholic High School. He furthered his education by earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgetown University in Washington, DC and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Tom practiced law in Monongahela for many years.

Tom was a beloved son, brother, and uncle, and his infectious laugh will be missed. He is survived by his brother, Coleman (Jeanne) Benedict of Upper St. Clair; Coleman's six children, Heather, Coleman, Jr., Lauren, Courtney, Christopher, and Meredith, their families, and children; and his sister, Joyce A. Belan of Windermere, FL; Joyce's two children, Ken and Joy, their families, and children.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph J. Benedict, Jr. who died in infancy, and his niece Cindy.

Funeral services are private. Burial will be in the Benedict family plot in St. Mary's Cemetery, Monongahela. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Frye Funeral Home Inc.
