Obituary

Surrounded at home with his loving family, Thomas "Pappy" Sollosi, Jr., 99, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February, 26, 2025.

Tom was born in West Brownsville on July 16, 1925 to Thomas and Margaret Messner Sollosi. He grew up in Elrama and graduated from Connelly Vocational School in Pittsburgh in 1943. After his discharge from the military, he worked on the Pennsylvania Railroad as a brakeman for forty years, retiring in 1986.

Tom enjoyed gardening, playing the mandolin, watching the Pirates and the Penguins, and playing his daily numbers. Tom was liked and admired by everyone who knew him. He was always ready to help family, neighbors, and friends in need.

Tom was a wonderful dad and grandfather. He is survived by his children, Marilyn (Marcello) Ricci, Dr. Tom (Linda) Sollosi, Ron (Dawn) Sollosi, Shari (Kevin) Necciai; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and his youngest brother, Steve Sollosi.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth Clark Sollosi with whom he celebrated 75 years of marriage; son, Rick Sollosi and his wife, Maryann; daughter-in-law, Gay Sollosi; and siblings, Margaret Lehrman, Julia Mellor, John Sollosi, and Mike Sollosi.
