Violet "Ruth" Brown's Obituary
Violet "Ruth" Brown, 90, of New Eagle, died Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at her son's home in Pittsburgh. She was born September 27, 1927 in Houston Run, the daughter of William M. and Bertha Violet Koch Castor.
Ruth was a 1945 graduate of Monongahela High School. She was the matriarch of her family, whom her whole life was centered around. She was an avid bowler and had a passion for taking care of her flower garden.
She is survived three sons, Danny Brown and wife Sherry, William Brown and wife Carol, all of Monongahela, Ronald Brown and wife Amy of Pittsburgh; six grandchildren, Paula, Jennifer, Noah, Andrew, Alexandra and Veronica; and ten great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul V. Brown who died September 25, 2011; and her daughter, Barbara Brown.
Friends will be received on Thursday, September 13, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, where services will be held on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Dr. Cindy McClung officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pittsburgh.
