Violet Mae Martin, 79, of Finleyville, died Friday, November 1, 2024 in her home. She was born September 10, 1945 in New Eagle, the daughter of David Warren and Violet Mae Lytle Smith.

Violet retired from McMurray Hills Manor where she was employed for 25 years in the housekeeping department. She enjoyed baking, especially Christmas cookies and hard tack candy, and shopping with her sister, Marybelle, and sister-in-law, Kathleen.

She is survived by three daughters, Erin Barger of Finleyville, Tonia (Mark) St. Cyr of Courtney, Christine Patterson of Washington; ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Patrick Martin, who died July 8, 2006; daughter, Colleen Anne Martin; son-in-law, Bill Barger; two sisters, Cheerie Carden and Marybelle McClaine; two brothers, David and Frank Smith.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the Frye Funeral Home, Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Jude Urso officiating. Interment will follow in the Finleyville Cemetery.
