Violet J. Smith, 79, of Monongahela, died Monday, May 31, 2021 in Premier Washington Health Center. She was born August 21, 1941 in Blythedale, the daughter of Addison W. and Allison Stewart George.
Violet was a member of CityReach Church in Charleroi and for several years was employed at Cox's Market in Monongahela in the cleaning capacity. Violet enjoyed going to flea markets and yard sales, sitting on her patio watching wildlife, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Dean Smith of Monongahela and Jeffrey Smith and wife Sara of Royal Oak, Michigan; three grandchildren, Bradley, David, Joseph and his wife, Emily Smith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David W. Smith, Jr. who died May 8, 2021; and a brother, Roger George.
Friends will be received on Thursday, June 3, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the Frye Funeral Home, Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela where services will be held on Friday, June 4, 2021 at 11 AM with the Rev. Gregg Anders officiating. Interment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora.
