William "Jiggs" Gricar, 66, of Monongahela, died Wednesday, August 30, 2023 in Canonsburg Hospital. He was born April 29, 1957 in New Eagle, the son of the late Robert Louis and Clara Yavoich Gricar.

Jiggs was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Parish in Monessen. He was formerly employed at Meta Elkhorn Excavating, Lone Pine Construction, Inc., and Merit Contracting, Inc., and currently employed at GEO Energy Tech Services. He was a lifetime member of Valley Inn Sportsman Club. Jiggs loved tractor pulling and operating heavy equipment.

He is survived by his companion of 22 years, Darla Porter; three children, Frank Gricar and wife, Lori, Maria Pappert and husband, Robert, and Bernadette Bongyor and husband, Lou, all of Monongahela; six grandchildren, Frankie Gricar, Dominick, Jordano, and Stefano Marozza, Giada and Aiden Bongyor; four great grandchildren; brother, Richard Gricar and wife, Diana, of Charleroi.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sanderine DiVitto Gricar.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 from 2-8 PM in the Frye Funeral Home, Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Jude Urso officiating. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Monongahela.
