William Richard King, Ph.D., passed away peacefully at home on July 23, 2026, at the age of 87.

Bill was a devoted husband, father, teacher, and friend, known for his sharp intellect, quick wit, and deep love for his family.

After a distinguished career at the University of Pittsburgh, he retired as a University Professor, leaving a lasting impact on his students, colleagues, and the field of information systems.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey Clark King and Cambria Edith (Jones) King, and his brother, Dewey Charles King.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Fay Eileen (Bickerton) King; his daughter, Cambria H. King; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

There will be no visitation. Private services will be held by the family.
