Zachary J. Estok, 29, of Pittsburgh, died unexpectedly Sunday, January 1, 2017 in his home. He was born December 31, 1987 in Pittsburgh, the son of Sandra Schnupp Hammerstrom and husband Eric and Darrell Estok..
Zach grew up in the West Mifflin area. He started BMX racing about the age of ten, and won several awards and trophies into his teenage years. He still had a passion for racing as he got older, but mainly did it as a hobby at BMX in Pittsburgh. He also enjoyed mountain biking and running 5k races and loved spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Vanessa Miller and husband Nick of Elizabeth; niece and nephew, Autumn and Liam Miller; maternal grandparents, William and Marlene Schnupp of West Mifflin; paternal grandfather, Joseph Estok and paternal grandmother, Linda Leshen, both of Florida; aunt, Mindy Miller and husband John of Donora; uncle, Erik Schnupp and wife Megan of Monongahela; several cousins.
Private visitations and funeral services were held at the Frye Funeral Home, Inc., Monongahela.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society and mailed to: Michael's Place, 501 N. Negley Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15206.
