Zelma Grace Smith, 88, of Charleroi (Fallowfield Township) died Saturday, October 19, 2024 in her home with her daughter, Delena, by her side. She was born March 7, 1936 in Newton, West Virginia, the daughter of David C. and Delena Parsons Hensley.

She was a member of New Beginnings Church of God of Prophecy in New Eagle, where she was a Sunday School teacher and youth leader. Zelma and her family sang specials in church and traveled to different churches in the area. She loved worshiping the Lord and was faithful until the end.

She is survived by three sons, Robert D. Smith of Eighty Four, Richard Alan Smith of Marianna, William C. (Michelle) Smith of Donora; two daughters, Cynthia Lenik of Leesburg, Florida, Delena Smith of Eighty Four; eleven grandchildren, Candice and Wesley Lenik, Tera Barkey, Jason Smith, Melody Devenney, Danielle and Jonathan Smith, Henry Collazo, Melissa Herrera, Ryan and Brendon Edwards; twenty-four great grandchildren; brother, Rev. Basil Hensley of Elkins, West Virginia; two sisters, Janice Fields of Maryland, Sondra Blackshire of Leesburg, Florida.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Richard Smith who died January 27, 2017; daughter-in-law, Marisol Smith; grandson, Nathan Edwards; brothers, Garlen, Harlen, Holly and Vernon Hensley; sisters, Sylvia Jarvis, Frances Urbanik; and sister-in-law, Janis Hensley.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Thursday, October 24, 2024 in the Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 W. Main Street, Monongahela. Additional visitations will be held from 10-11 AM on Friday, October 25, 2024 with a funeral service at 11:00 AM in New Beginnings Church of God of Prophecy, 411 Fourth Avenue, New Eagle with Zelma's son, the Rev. William C. Smith, officiating. Interment will follow in the Finleyville Cemetery.
