Harrison L. "Uncle Rusty" Shaffer, 69, of Bunola, died Wednesday, May 20, 2015 in his home. He was born January 12, 1946 in Philippi, West Virginia, the son of Harrison Bradford and Perlina Mitchell Shaffer. Harrison was a graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School and a member of the Bunola Nazarene Church where he was an usher. He retired after thirty six years of employment from Metal Management in Elizabeth. Harrison enjoyed going to the movies and watching them at home. He liked window shopping and traveling to West Virginia where his roots were. He was a caregiver to his mother until her death. Kind, loving and helpful to all, Harrison was the best uncle in the world. He is survived by two brothers, Raymond Shaffer and wife Carol of Clairton, Charles Shaffer and wife Zona of Bunola; numerous nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces and great great nephews and nieces also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ada Gay Streets and his brother, William Shaffer. Friends will be received on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Frye Funeral Home, Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, where services will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth.
